Rides, Shows, & Shamu in Orlando
Central Florida is home to some great beaches and waters, but to get the full experience of what lies under the sea, head to SeaWorld Orlando. SeaWorld combines with the nearby Discovery Cove and Aquatica Waterpark for days of fun in Orlando.
Established in 1973 and a temporary home to more than five million guests each year, SeaWorld Orlando features thrill rides, marine life exhibits, and live shows starring their nautical residents.
SeaWorld Orlando features several different sections, including Key West at SeaWorld, Shamu’s Happy Habor, Wild Artic, and the Waterfront at SeaWorld.
For families traveling with children, head to Shamu’s Happy Harbor – home to the kid-friendly Shamu Express roller coaster and other rides appropriate for children – or feed the dolphins and stingrays at the Key West at SeaWorld section.
Other animals found in Key West include many species of sea turtles, plus dolphins, alligators, manatees, flamingos and pelicans. If temperature are on the rise, head to the Wild Artic sector and visit polar bears, whales, and walruses – or visit during the holidays for SeaWorld’s Polar Express Experience.
For thrill seekers, enjoy lunch at Sharks Underwater Grill, and don’t miss SeaWorld roller coaster rides like Kraken and Manta – or grab a seat on the Sky Tower for the 400-foot free fall. And what would SeaWorld be without live entertainment? Head to Bayside Stadium for waterskiing shows and live music, or other popular venues like the Whale and Dolphin Stadium and the Sea Lion and Otter Stadium.
Just don’t leave SeaWorld without a visit to the famed Shamu Stadium – a seven million gallon tank and home to the famed killer whales of SeaWorld.
